We've been going here for a few years now and I will NEVER EVER go anywhere else! Every single person we've dealt with has been extremely pleasant to talk to, very knowledgeable, helpful and took amazing care of us. If only ALL businesses were run as well as Optix, there would be nothing but extremely happy and satisfied customers everywhere! I have been going to Optix on Downer for my optometry and eyewear needs for years now after switching from my last optometrist. The staff have always been friendly and professional in their interactions with myself and others when I've visited. Dr. McGinley has his offices outfitted with newer technology which makes eye exams quick and easy. They carry a wide variety of frames, are happy to help you select a pair, and the glasses I've purchased here have held up very well over time. I've also brought my frames back for adjustments which they do at no cost. Overall, I've been very happy with my experiences at Optix.

Very pleasant staff but unfortunately the customer service is lacking. Took over month to get frames due to lab errors. Didn't like frames and attempted to return them in less than one week from receiving and they would only exchange.. Spoke to multiple employees and no one was aware of issues, as if conversations weren't documented. Proceeded to attempt to get contacts and during exam listened to eye doctor talk bad about me to staff. Finally gave up and had to go to competitor to have new eye exam and obtain new frames. Between the five plus visits lost approximately $1,000.00. Very unfortunate as Optix was recommended by a colleague. Based on experience strongly recommend you see a different establishment for your eye health and eye care needs.

They saved my vision! I can’t say enough good things about Optix on Downer. Their staff got me in last minute on a Saturday to see Dr. McGinley when I had an eye infection emergency. I was amazed at the care I received even though I wasn’t an established patient. Dr. McGinley answered my questions throughout the day after the appointment and even gave me a referral to a specialist for the following Monday- the specialist said that the action Dr. McKinley took was critical to my recovery from the infection. The customer service was outstanding especially since I had to bring my two year old with me that morning. THANK YOU!

I have never seen such a rude doctor in my entire life. At opix vision, they made mistakes on my prescription glasses and he treated me like (maybe because I'm black...? Who knows) while there have been huge communication problems of its employees. I had to leave my glasses on because the work was so badly done

This place is superb.
My long-time experience in MKE is that the professional staff in these sorts of businesses have excellent professional care (OD, techs), but the storefront staff fall short.

That is emphatically NOT the case at Optix. The entire staff is skilled, friendly! (often a rarity), and excellent at navigating between patient-customer needs. There's really a comfortable elegance about the people and a truly beautiful store.

From Dr. McGinley's cordial and expert exam to Alannah's friendly, first class precision up front, this is the place you hope to find.

This place is great. Just got my second eye exam and pair of glasses. Both pairs of glasses are the best quality, most flattering eyewear I've ever owned. The brands they carry are pricey, but they're well made, unique, and you get what you pay for. The eye exam is also great, not just a cursory vision check as a prelude to picking out frames. A real, comprehensive eye health and vision assessment including talking about eye fatigue, lens options and screen time with the doc. The support staff has all been wonderful too, very professional, courteous and helpful every time I've gone in there or called. Highly recommended!
