Working with Coyote to get my glasses was such a smooth experience. I set up an appointment and came in with some frames in mind that I wanted to look at. He also pulled some suggestions for me to try. He made a really good call on some Opticianado frames that would work really well with my high prescription and fit my face proportionally. The lens thickness is the most minimal I have ever had on my glasses. Very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend, especially to those who have very high prescriptions and can really use that extra bit of custom service.

Lab Rabbit is the by far the best optical shop in Chicago for unique and well crafted frames. Coyote is always friendly, funny, and patient. His selection is beautifully curated and he takes plenty of time with his customers to help them choose frames to suit both their anatomy and tastes. The best!

Here's a howl for Coyote! Thanks for all the great glasses over the years. I'm a big fan of the various Japanese designer frames in the shop. Lab Rabbit Optics is the only place I go for frames and lens-- he's a master of the craft and helpful.

Normally I submit a review as soon as I patronize a business, and I can't tell you why it's taken me 3-ish years to write this review but in my entire life I have never had an optometrist that I would recommend more than Coyote.

The glasses he designs and sells are gorgeous, honestly so beautiful and sturdy that I haven't really needed to buy a pair since I bought my main everyday glasses in 2021. But what makes Coyote truly special and unique is twofold:
1- I deeply appreciate his honest and thoughtful feedback and suggestions about lens color, what frames look good, what doesn't, etc. He is unafraid to give his honest opinion and tell you when something looks correct or not. Even some of my closest friends are not as dependable when it comes to fashion advice!
2- He stands 100% behind his work and ensures that I am happy with my glasses even years after purchasing them. He is never annoyed with me (afaik) no matter how much I abuse my glasses and how many times I bring them to be adjusted. In fact, I just had my glasses adjusted for the second time this year after an accident that had them rubbing the back of my ears.

Try to get anything close to that from Warby Parker! I could obviously go on, but you'll just have to see for yourself when you visit 😉

Not only does he have a curated selection of frames you won't find elsewhere, he gave me candid feedback about which frames suited my face.
