I had such a great experience here recently! I have been looking for an optometrist as I really loved the one I had, before he retired. I saw Dr. Nguyen and she was awesome. She was friendly and knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I was seen right away and found every staff member to be helpful. The selection of glasses is really exciting, lots of fun styles. The staff had looked up my insurance before I’d arrived and was able to tell me exactly what I would be paying. I really loved the efficiency of the place and the attitude of the staff. Everyone made me feel welcome. I will definitely come back.

This is such a great neighborhood optometrist office! Dr. Patel was friendly and thorough, but I am most impressed with Liem and the management.

I was upgrading to a new pair after several years with my old glasses, leading to lots of back and forth as I was having a hard time adjusting. Liem and the technician were extremely helpful, attentively listening to all of my questions and concerns, and I got a second iteration of the lenses that work perfectly! Thank you for all your help and guidance, and I will of course be going back for all my glass and contact needs!

I’m really bummed to be writing this review. At first, this seemed like a great office, and I was excited to have found a new eye doctor. Unfortunately after my experiences in the past 6 months, my only recommendation would be to stay away from this office.

I first had an appointment with Dr. Patel in late February 2024 for a general eye exam and contact lens fitting. During my appointment, I complained of significantly dry eyes, light sensitivity, and poor fitting contacts among other symptoms I had been having. Dr. Patel said my eyes looked healthy and just recommended rewetting drops. At my contact lens follow up, I complained of the same issues despite following her recommendations. She assured me again it was just dry eyes and sent me on my way. Fast forward a few months and my symptoms only got worse and worse. I eventually followed up with an ophthalmologist who diagnosed me with an eye condition, which because it had been left untreated, had developed into corneal ulcers. Super scary, considering corneal ulcers can cause blindness if not treated like the emergency they are.

And of course, this was not the end of the story - Because of the corneal ulcers, I had to stop wearing contacts immediately and so wanted to get my new prescription filled for glasses. Heights Vision quoted me a turnaround time of up to a month to get my glasses, so no problem, I found a lab that could do it sooner. Unfortunately, the glasses prescription I was given was way too strong (strangely much stronger than my contacts script) and the glasses were unwearable. The lab asked that I revisit the same office again so that I could get a new prescription and the glasses could be remade. I called Heights Vision and explained the whole situation and was told I could come in for a recheck. I expressed concern over insurance coverage since I had already had a visit this year, but was told it was different and would be covered since it was considered a recheck. During the appointment, the doctor was eager to issue me a new prescription that worked for me but glazed over the fact that my earlier eye complaints had developed into corneal ulcers. Fast forward to today, and I've discovered this appointment was in fact billed as another comprehensive exam. After calling the office, I was told that the visit wouldn’t have been a recheck because too much time had elapsed since my first visit. Understandable, however this is contrary to the last conversation I had, which I re-explained. The woman I spoke with did her best to be helpful and go through everything with me but was steadfast that this would be considered a new comprehensive exam.

I understand that mistakes happen, but an unwillingness to address and make good on them, especially ones that have life altering ramifications, is inexcusable. Instead I’m left with both the physical and financial consequences of this doctor and office’s mistakes. I will be avoiding this office in the future and suggest you do the same.

I've been coming to Heights Vision for many years since it was on Montague Street and it's great that they're a private optometry office. This new location and ownership is a massive improvement from the previous one. The doctors are very efficient, knowledgeable, and professional. I could tell my vision was changing as I was straining to see things up close but the doctor thoroughly explained what was happening and assured me all is normal. I was hesitant to get progressive glasses, even though it was time, but the optical has some REALLY nice glasses you don't normally find – especially from a doctor's office. They do not carry the typical glasses owned by Luxottica and have a great selection of independent brands. I went with a pair of handmade frames from Cutler and Gross. The optician was also very helpful with my first pair of progressive lenses. I tend to go with premium lenses as I appreciate better vision. When my glasses were ready a couple of weeks later, they were absolutely perfect! The digital lenses were extremely sharp and I could tell the difference from my previous glasses. I also got the photosensitive lenses that turn into sunglasses in the sun. So I quite literally wear these glasses all the time even as my sunglasses. In my opinion, what this office does well is provide great vision care and offer exceptional eyeglasses. If you have vision insurance, this is a great place to use it to subsidize the cost of nice glasses that you really want... again, they have nice glasses here and the lenses are the best I've ever had. I love Heights Vision. Great staff. Great glasses. Great experience from beginning to end!

I had such a great experience at Heights Vision, and I highly recommend this practice! I saw Dr. Downy Nguyen, and she was an absolute pro. She explained everything to me along the way, and she was proactive in giving me the opportunity to ask questions.

What I especially loved about the experience though was that the staff also walked me through all the expenses and what was and wasn't covered by insurance. Too often, I find that other practices don't walk through all the costs and share what is optional vs required. Heights Vision gave a clear picture of everything, and I was able to make an informed decision in getting new lenses for my glasses.

Finally, there were little things that just made for a positive overall experience. Online booking with text/email reminders was very convenient. The wait time was less than 5 minutes, and the turnaround time for my new glasses was 1 day (though they said it might take a couple weeks, just as a buffer). I felt like I could take my time in trying on different glasses.

I've had such a good experience with Heights Vision, I was compelled to write a review. The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive. They are efficient, with little to no wait times. I worked with Liem on ordering a new pair of glasses with progressive lenses, a first for me. He helped me choose a frame that I adore--they are unique and stylish, yet comfortable. Once they arrived, he guided me on what to expect as I adjusted to the lenses. I happened to have a follow-up question and went back to the shop immediately after, but he had already gone home. I let them know at the front desk that I would return the following day. The next morning, a staff member took the initiative to call and let me know Liem would be in a meeting for the next few hours, although I hadn't left my name or a message to be passed onto him. This type of customer service is above and beyond. Recently, a pair of my sunglasses broke, and the optician fixed them for free even though I didn't purchase them there. Top tier service all around, and I highly recommend them!

I’ve been a longstanding optometry patient here. Heights Vision goes above and beyond to help its patients. Today they repaired my sunglasses for a better fit and gave me a new case, all free of charge. I am really happy with the service and very excited for my improved sunglasses! Highly recommended!
