After researching several places, we decided to go here. Best decision ever! Delilah was amazing, very personable, funny and professional. She helped us each find a pair of frames we liked. She greeted us when we arrived and had everything ready.

The doctor was also amazing! I've never had an optometrist go through each exam, show and tell what they're looking for, and be so thorough. I know more about my eye health in one visit than I did from over 20 years of eye exams put together.

We highly recommend this place and we will be coming here for all future visits as well!

Best eye care business in the Loop! They went out of their way to make sure I had exactly what I needed, from the eye exam to helping me with lens decisions to even getting the glasses rush-delivered. They're friendly, knowledgeable, and take the time to help you get what you need. I highly recommend.

Poor customer service and bad vibes all around. I came in for my appointment and everything started off fine, however, it’s worth noting I floated around the small, empty space with no help, or even a glance in my direction.
I felt rushed the entire exam. My doctor explained very little to me and sped through every question and explanation. The experience was quite uncomfortable.
At the end, I was told I needed a new prescription. I wasn’t interested in purchasing glasses, and I explained this to reception as I only wanted the new prescription and order glasses elsewhere. I felt almost coerced into trying on a bunch of pairs and like they were intentionally trying to upsell me $800 frames!! Once I declined to try on more glasses or order a new pair, I was met with a look of disgust and received no eye contact or follow-up instructions as they checked me out. I asked for a printed copy of my prescription and one of the receptionists cut me off and told me to look in my email.

I still have not received my prescription and my appointment was in July. I’m disappointed that this happened and hope this is not a common experience.

They fixed a pair of sunglasses that I didn’t buy there and they did an excellent job !

My sunglasses had a missing screw, I took them to several stores before and nobody was able to fix them.
These two women gave me excellent service and when I went to pay, the repair was totally free!

I will definitely come back !

We came to Chicago for a short vacation and my husband realized too late that he forgot his contact lens. After some researches we came to Big City Optical. The manager, Dee, was very friendly and helpful. She was upfront that they do not have (or carry) the brand that is prescribed to my husband, but she went to check with one of the doctors always to see what they can do. She then came back with a pair of monthly lens with the same power, she even went as far as giving us solution and container when my husband asked her what to do with the lens at the end of the day (he’s only used daily disposals before). She did all that without charging us for anything, which I was pretty surprised as we were about to pay for what she gave us. I’m very impressed with the helpfulness she’s willing to go, for people who are not even repeated customers. Just based on our experience I’d recommend this place.

I was visiting Chicago staying at a fancy hotel in downtown and the cleaning person accidentally threw out my daily disposal contact lenses. Big City Optical saved the day! They gave me some sample contact lenses so I could enjoy the last few days of my visit. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and professional. They didn’t charge me either! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I had a very frustrating experience at this location. Despite emphasizing I could not wait too long to receive new contacts, I had to wait 3 weeks for them to get a trial contract, and they still did not, citing production line issues. I called multiple times asking my prescription to be released so I can order it myself online (my prescription was basically the same as before), but every time they came up with a new excuse and they told me all those online stores repack their products and sell expired contacts which was another attempt to convince me to keep waiting so I buy the contacts from them. I understand it's a business and they are trying to sell products (they were trying really hard to convince me to buy glasses too while I did not need a new pair and had to remind them multiple times), but it's disrespectful to think someone allows themselves to try to scare you into buying products from them. After finally convincing them to release my prescription, I ordered the same exact product online and it was shipped after 2 days. I just ended up wasting 1 month waiting for my contact lenses. I will not be coming back to this location.

They are very good in their job and also very nice. They did my prescription glasses in 1 hour, and I left using them! They also fixed the ones I already had for free.
Loved my glasses and the attention 🙂
