Excellent service & competitive pricing— also, one of the (apparently) few places willing to quote price estimates over the phone. Apart from being very pleased with the new lenses I got for some frames I brought in, Michael also took the time to help me properly fit some sunglasses I'd been meaning to get fitted for years, but just never got around to... THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I recently returned to this amazing shop, after pausing during Covid, and remember why I was crazy to go anywhere else. They make the BEST lens, offer a boutique assortment of terrific frames, and Michael, the owner, is the nicest guy around. I got both progressive glasses and sunglasses - for less than I have paid for one pair elsewhere (their 2- 4-1 deal). Turnaround was quick and efficient. Highly recommend.

241 Optical is just fantastic. I’ve been returning for about 5 years. I don’t otherwise look forward to shopping for glasses - but they make it easier and actually enjoyable. Their selection is neither too small (the case at many shops lately) or too overwhelmingly huge, and it’s well curated. Very reasonable prices and personable, generous service. That’s all underrated - but the staff is also fantastic. Their solid understanding of the selection and glasses in general is always evident, and they make the details easy to understand. It’s always been very clear they enjoy eyewear and helping people find what works for them. Every interaction has been infused with a special kind of earnest, friendly enthusiasm that says a lot. Cambridge is lucky to have 241.

This was one of the first among the current eyeglasses shops in Harvard Square, and still the best. They have the best selection of frames, at the best prices— you actually get two for the price of one, which is very nice to have if you want to keep a spare or some sunglasses on hand. No in-house optometrist to do the refraction, but they will work with whatever you bring them and make sure it gets done right. Michael can fill most orders in an hour, depending on whether he has the frames and lenses in stock. He also makes adjustments and corrections very quickly on demand. Very satisfied customer.

A very fun experience. He helped me find an inexpensive but really cute and up-to-date pair of glasses and the cost was great. He was very professional and well informed, and I felt completely personally attended to. He handled it all within an hour and I was able to wear my glasses home again. I would always come back to 2 for 1 Optical.
